Gucci Braided Leather Horsebit Bracelet
$250.00
Carefully preserved since its original purchase circa 2005, this Gucci bracelet remains in "like-new" condition as a full set that includes original box and dust bag.
Before he founded his namesake brand, Guccio Gucci worked as a lift boy (bellhop) at the Savoy Hotel in London during the early 20th century. While working there, he was captivated by the aesthetic of the wealthy guests who frequented the hotel. He observed their sophisticated luggage, their refined attire, and, crucially, their equestrian gear. The sight of high-end bridles, saddles, and bits left a lasting impression on him, representing a world of "aristocratic leisure," power, and heritage.
The Horsebit motif is an enduring emblem of the House, first introduced in the late 1940s as a functional yet aesthetic nod to the brand's deep-rooted connection to the equestrian lifestyle.
By 1953, the Horsebit was firmly established as a cornerstone of the Gucci identity, appearing on iconic loafers and handbags that defined the era.
This bracelet is a quintessential example of the mid-2000s, a period where Gucci masterfully balanced its equestrian heritage with a sleek, modern aesthetic. It is characterized by high-tension braided leather and substantial polished hardware. The leather is free from structural degradation - no cracks or fraying.
This piece is considered a size Medium. It’s 17cm or 6.7 inches. Laying flat, the bracelet is 8” long, 3/4” at the widest width. The clasp is made of steel and has light signs of wear, which we’ve magnified to be visible in the photos.
